An interesting view in a period when globally, revenue and interest in Test cricket is in decline. Although English and Australian fans are enthusiastic about the Ashes, I would draw Mr Bright's attention to all the empty seats at Lord's on the Sunday and Monday of what could have been a cracking game against Sri Lanka had a couple of wickets fallen.

As for India-Pakistan in Mumbai, Test matches in that region attract very few spectators. Outside of England the demand for Test cricket is on the wane. Thanks to some of the strike-rates and strokeplay seen in one-day cricket, Test match cricket has improved as a spectacle and become more entertaining.

I agree that pyjama cricket can become repetitive and maybe there should be less of it but I don't think scrapping it is any sort of solution.
