Interesting article. However, it doesn't really scratch the surface, you say that 'desirability is power' as if this was some indisputable truth, but there are very narrow permeters that determine what is desirable, and in this context I would stick my neck out to say you refer to the fetishised female form, one that directly refers to 'femininity' which only exists as a construct of masculine desire. Surely any power that is claimed is a fallacy? This is the core issue that Levy deals with in her text, I don't think it's a case of embittered third wave feminists sitting around and deciding how best to spoil the fun of the 'liberated' women who would like nothing better than to celebrate their sexuality by pole dancing/ not wearing a lot etc, but highlighting the importance of being aware of how restrictive these means are. It seems that the only way that a woman can celebrate her sexuality is by adhering to strict gender stereotyping. I think we should refer to the Butlerian argument that its all performative anyway, but that's another argument for another day.

I do wonder about your 'instinctual behaviour' comment as well, a very grey area indeed. But as I say yours is an interesting argument, even if I have to say I disagree with most points.
